Hollywood’s Burning was an exercise in applying and developing my skills in Adobe After Effects. I outlined what I wanted the finished product to be, noted what I knew and what I needed to learn, and made it happen. That meant, as one example, spending hours manually creating this particulate burn-away transition because After Effects’ presets didn’t quite look like what I had in mind.
